The department of Mathematics
was opened in the year 1982 with
the opening of Science stream.
The department imparts teaching
to both +2 and +3 students.
The department has two
sanctioned teaching posts.
However, one post is lying
vacant and steps have already
been initiated to fill up the
vacancy. Sixty five
students read the subject as
Pass or Elective. In the Annual
conference of Orissa
Mathematical Society held at the
Department of Mathematics,
Sambalpur University (in the
year 2006) , a faculty of the
department Miss Sujata Gountia
took part in the discussion for
implementing same type of
syllabus in all Universities for
degree colleges in Orissa.
The performance of
students is adequate and
satisfactory. Drop out rate is
minimal. There is no
departmental library other than
the central library. There are
471 mathematics books in the
central library.
Learning resources of the
department is the number of
books available in the central
library. Sometimes the faculty
member uses overhead projector
and computers for teaching.
Miss Sujata Gountia of
the department attended one
International Conference, One
National Symposium and 03
conferences of Orissa
Mathematical Society during the
