The Vision and Mission of
the Institution is to give
quality education and to
disseminate value based training
to its students. Further it is
committed to an all round
development of the
undergraduates by introducing
add-on courses for rural
students to prepare them to meet
the present day challenges of
life. Above all the institution
aims at building ideal citizens
of tomorrow. This mission and
vision is reflected in the crest
of the Institution which says
‘Knowledge is Power’.
The present day youth, after moving
out of the academic sphere, face
cut throat competition in a fast
moving consumerist society.
Hence the programmes pursued
through the curricula are
consistent with the goals aimed
at offering diversity and
flexibility to the learners by
exposing them to such new
approaches in different
disciplines as would suffice
their socio economic needs.
The goals and objectives are: to
provide quality education in
various fields to help bring
about an all round development
in the rural youth; to inculcate
spiritual, ethical and moral
education which alone can ensure
the nurturing and development of
a well balanced personality; to
endow the youth with scientific,
technical and professional
education to make them self
sufficient in life. These goals
and objectives are reflected in
the information brochure
distributed to the students at
the beginning of every academic
session. These are further
reiterated in the ‘student,
parent and teachers’ meetings.
To enhance the
employability of the students,
the College has applied for
opening permission for the
Vocational subject Communicative
English in +3 Arts stream. The
College has received the seed
money from the U.G.C. for 03
self financing Career Oriented
Vocational courses namely
Computer Maintenance,
Biotechnology (Horticulture) and
T.V & Video Production. These
add-on subjects will be
available to the students of +3
Science from the academic
session 2007-08. The Distance
Education Cell of Sambalpur
University has approved Attabira
College, Attabira as a study
centre for DCA, BCA & PGDCA. The
students can take the advantage
of these courses from the next
academic session.
The main objective of the College is
to ignite young minds into
personalities capable of
excelling in diverse fields. On
its Silver Jubilee year the
College is marching towards
fulfillment of its commitment.
The College provides quality
education and insists upon
academic discipline. The College
has created a reputation for
having a peaceful and excellent
study and learning environment.
