There is an Advisory Committee
for the College Library headed
by the Principal. All Heads of
the Departments are members of
the Committee. Three members of
the staff are in charge of the
Library and Reading Room and
they keep an eye on the
functioning of the
library/reading room. The
Advisory Committee also take
care of the difficulties, if
any faced by the students and
teachers as well.
The Central Library is housed in a
spacious hall and necessary
infrastructure has been
developed to make it function
efficiently and make it more
user friendly The well stocked
library and well-furnished
reading room is easily
accessible. Learning Resources
available in the library are
availed both by the students and
teachers. Topmost Care is taken
for Safe-Keeping of the books
and Journals
In the beginning of
the session, the Heads of the
Departments are asked to submit
a list of current titles,
important journals and other
reading materials to be
purchased for the library. The
lists submitted are scrutinized
by the Advisory Committee
keeping in view the funds
available. The books are
purchased from reputed book
sellers. New arrival of Books
and Journals are duly notified
to ensure prompt and proper use.
The library is kept open on
teaching days from 9am. (about
180 days) and on working days
from 10.30am. to 5 pm. (about
238 days. An amount of Rs.
300689/- has been spent on
purchase of new books and
Journals during the last five
years. From the very beginning
of the academic session the
students are motivated by the
teachers to use the library as
Learning Resources along with
the Class Room teaching. The
Librarian and the Attendants
have been instructed to be
‘Student friendly’ and to extend
all possible co-operation to the
students in the use of the
library resources. The
Students/Teachers are duly
informed about the new arrivals
and are encouraged to go through
them. The Library is easily
accessible. The library has been
provided with internet
facilities and interested
students and teachers are
encouraged to use it to augment
their knowledge. Steps have
already been initiated to
computerize library services |
